WY’EAST COMMUNITY CHURCH

About Wy’East

A country church. A church family.
A place to follow Jesus.

Wy’East Community Church is a small country church serving the communities of Odell, Pine Grove, and the greater Hood River Valley of Oregon.

We are people from different backgrounds, different generations, and different places in our walk with God. Some have followed Jesus for many years. Others are still asking questions. Some grew up in church, while others are finding their way back after being away for a long time.

Wherever you are in that journey, you are welcome here.

We believe church should be a place where people can come as they are, hear the truth of God’s Word, discover who Jesus really is, and grow together in faith.

Our Purpose Is Simple

We want to know Jesus, follow Jesus, and help others know Him too.

Christianity can sometimes become complicated. Churches can become distracted by traditions, programs, arguments, politics, and things that were never meant to be at the center of our faith.

We want to keep coming back to the center:

Jesus Christ.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6

That conviction shapes who we are as a church.

We gather to worship Jesus, learn from Scripture, encourage one another, pray together, serve our neighbors, and grow into the people God has called us to be.

What You’ll Find Here

Simple church. Biblical teaching. Genuine relationships. Jesus at the center.

01

Biblical Teaching

We believe the Bible is God’s Word and that it speaks with truth and relevance to our lives today.

Our teaching works through Scripture carefully and seeks to explain not only what the Bible says, but what it means and how we live it out.

You don’t need a theology degree to understand God’s Word. We want biblical teaching to be faithful, understandable, practical, and centered on Christ.

02

A Genuine Church Family

Wy’East isn’t a place where you need to impress anyone.

We are ordinary people following an extraordinary Savior.

You will find farmers, veterans, retirees, working families, longtime residents, newcomers, and people from many different walks of life.

We don’t pretend to have everything figured out. We believe the Christian life is something we walk together.

03

Room for Honest Questions

Faith doesn’t require pretending difficult questions don’t exist.

Why does God allow suffering? Can the Bible really be trusted? Why did Jesus have to die? What does it mean to be saved?

We believe those questions deserve thoughtful, biblical answers.

Bring your questions with you.

What We Believe

At the heart of our faith is the good news of Jesus Christ.

We believe there is one God who created us and loves us.

We believe humanity has been separated from God through sin and that we cannot repair that separation simply by becoming better people.

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, who came into the world to rescue sinners.

Jesus lived the life we could not live, died on the cross for our sins, and rose bodily from the grave.

Forgiveness and eternal life are God’s gifts of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ—not something we earn through religious works or personal goodness.

And when Christ saves us, He calls us into a new life of following Him.

The Christian life isn’t about earning God’s love. It is learning to live because we have already been loved by God in Christ.

What Church Looks Like Here

Church doesn’t have to be complicated.

We Gather.
We Worship.
We Open the Bible.
We Pray.
We Share Life.
We Follow Jesus.

Then we go back into our homes, farms, workplaces, neighborhoods, and communities trying to live faithfully as followers of Jesus.

We believe God often does some of His most important work through ordinary people faithfully following Christ in ordinary places.

That has been true of country churches for generations, and we believe it is still true today.

Rooted in the Hood River Valley

Wy’East Community Church is deeply connected to the communities of the Hood River Valley.

The orchards, farms, mountains, families, and small communities around us aren’t simply where our church happens to be located.

They are our home.

We want to be a church that serves the people God has placed around us—caring for our neighbors, supporting families, helping people through difficult seasons, sharing the Gospel, and being a faithful Christian presence in our community.

Our doors are open to longtime residents and newcomers alike.

More Than Sunday Morning

Following Jesus doesn’t end when the Sunday service is over.

Throughout the life of the church, there are opportunities for Bible study, fellowship, prayer, service, and learning together.

Wy’East also extends its teaching ministry online through Mountain Veteran Ministries, our digital discipleship and biblical learning ministry.

Through articles, Bible studies, devotionals, sermons, videos, and answers to difficult questions, the ministry helps people explore Christianity, understand Scripture, discover Jesus, and grow in their faith wherever they may be.

The building may be in the Hood River Valley. The Gospel can travel much farther.

If You Haven’t Been to Church in a While

Maybe it has been years since you walked through the doors of a church.

Maybe you’ve never attended one.

Maybe you’ve been hurt by a church.

Maybe you’re uncertain what you believe.

Or maybe something in your life has simply caused you to start thinking about God again.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come.

You don’t need the right clothes. You don’t need to know when to stand or sit. And you don’t need to pretend to believe something you aren’t yet sure about.

Just come.

Listen. Ask questions. Meet some people. Open the Bible with us.

And most importantly, take another look at Jesus.

Come Worship With Us

Whether you’ve followed Christ for decades, are returning to church after years away, or are simply beginning to wonder whether there might be something more, we’d be glad to have you with us.

Come as you are.

There is a place for you here.

And there is no better place to begin than with Jesus.
