Abide in Me

Jesus in His Own Words · Lesson 9 of 12

Abide in Me

The Big Idea

Fruitful Christian living comes from remaining in Christ.

Before You Read

Read John 15:1–11 carefully. Ask the Lord to help you understand and respond to His Word.

Scripture

John 15:1–11 — Open this passage in your preferred Bible translation. Read it once for the main message and again for important details.

What Do You Notice?

Look at the vine, branches, gardener, fruit, and repeated command to remain.

Understanding the Passage

Branches do not manufacture life apart from the vine. In the same way, spiritual growth is dependent on Jesus. Abiding includes receiving His words, keeping His commandments, and living in His love. Pruning can be painful, but the Father’s purpose is fruitful growth. Christian obedience is the result of communion with Christ, not a substitute for it.

Key Truth

Fruitful Christian living comes from remaining in Christ.
