Understanding the Passage
Lasting fruit is not measured simply by visible achievement, popularity, or busyness. It includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities grow as the Spirit works in people who abide in Christ and walk by Him. Growth is often slow and requires repentance when we fail. We keep returning to Jesus, trusting Him to make our lives a blessing.
