Following Jesus in Everyday Life · Lesson 9 of 10

Faith in Community

The Big Idea

Believers need worship, teaching, fellowship, and mutual encouragement.

Before You Read

Read Hebrews 10:19–25; Acts 2:42–47 carefully. Ask the Lord to help you understand and respond to His Word.

Scripture

Hebrews 10:19–25; Acts 2:42–47 — Open this passage in your preferred Bible translation. Read it once for the main message and again for important details.

What Do You Notice?

Hebrews urges Christians to meet and encourage one another; Acts describes a growing worshiping community.

Understanding the Passage

Christian faith is personal but not solitary. The church is a family gathered around the risen Lord, His Word, prayer, shared worship, and care for others. No congregation is perfect, because it is made of people still growing in grace. We are called to participate, serve, and encourage rather than merely evaluate what we receive. Even those limited by age or illness can bless the church through prayer and wise companionship.

Key Truth

Believers need worship, teaching, fellowship, and mutual encouragement.

Digging Deeper

Read the verses just before and after today’s passage. Consider how its setting helps you understand the message. Look for connections with the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Think About It

  1. What does this passage reveal about God, Jesus, or the human heart?
  2. What word, promise, or command stands out to you, and why?
  3. Who in your church or community could use a phone call, visit, or encouraging word?
