Can I Know I Am Saved?

The Big Idea

Christian assurance rests on God’s testimony about His Son.

Before You Read

Read 1 John 5:9–13; John 10:27–30 carefully. Ask the Lord to help you understand and respond to His Word.

Scripture

1 John 5:9–13; John 10:27–30 — Open this passage in your preferred Bible translation. Read it once for the main message and again for important details.

What Do You Notice?

John writes so believers may know they have eternal life, and Jesus speaks of holding His sheep securely.

Understanding the Passage

Assurance should not rest on a perfect memory of our first prayer, an emotional high, or a claim that we never struggle. John directs us to the testimony God has given about His Son. Jesus describes those who hear His voice and follow Him as sheep whom He holds securely. Obedience and love are meaningful signs of life, but Christ remains the foundation of our confidence.

Key Truth

Christian assurance rests on God’s testimony about His Son.
