Scripture

John 3:1–8; 2 Corinthians 5:17–21 — Open this passage in your preferred Bible translation. Read it once for the main message and again for important details.

What Do You Notice?

Compare Jesus’ language about birth from the Spirit with Paul’s language about new creation.

Understanding the Passage

Christian salvation is more than receiving a new label or adopting better habits. God acts by His Spirit to bring life where there was none. Paul says that anyone in Christ is a new creation and that God reconciles people to Himself through Christ. Growth in holiness continues over a lifetime, but the new identity begins with God’s gracious initiative. This gives both humility and hope as we change.

Key Truth

God gives a new life and a new identity in Christ.
