Why Do We Need Salvation?

The Big Idea

Our deepest problem is sin, and our deepest need is reconciliation with God.

Before You Read

Read Romans 3:9–26 carefully. Ask the Lord to help you understand and respond to His Word.

Scripture

Romans 3:9–26 — Open this passage in your preferred Bible translation. Read it once for the main message and again for important details.

What Do You Notice?

Paul declares that all have sinned and then announces righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ.

Understanding the Passage

The gospel begins with uncomfortable honesty: none of us measures up to God’s holiness. Sin is not merely poor choices; it is rebellion that distorts our relationship with our Creator. Yet Romans 3 moves from our failure to God’s gracious provision. Christ is presented as the one through whom God acts justly to justify sinners. The good news does not flatter us; it saves us.

Key Truth

Our deepest problem is sin, and our deepest need is reconciliation with God.
