Faith Through Suffering
Following Jesus in Everyday Life · Lesson 8 of 10
Faith Through Suffering
The Big Idea
Suffering is real, yet it cannot separate believers from Christ’s love.
Before You Read
Read Romans 8:18–39; 1 Peter 1:3–9 carefully. Ask the Lord to help you understand and respond to His Word.
Scripture
Romans 8:18–39; 1 Peter 1:3–9 — Open this passage in your preferred Bible translation. Read it once for the main message and again for important details.
What Do You Notice?
Paul holds present groaning beside future glory; Peter speaks of living hope amid trials.
Understanding the Passage
The Bible never requires us to call pain pleasant or deny grief. It gives language for lament and promises that suffering is not the last word. Christ entered suffering Himself, and His resurrection anchors our hope in God’s future renewal. We may not understand why a particular hardship has come. But we can know that God is present and that His love in Christ will not fail.
Key Truth
Suffering is real, yet it cannot separate believers from Christ’s love.
