Understanding the Passage
Repentance is more than temporary regret or fear of consequences. It involves a changed mind that turns toward God and away from sin. Faith is not pretending to be certain about everything; it is trusting the One who offers salvation. Repentance and faith belong together because turning toward Christ also means turning from what opposes Him. Both are sustained through a life of discipleship.
